Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University
  • Clinical Pilates Certification – Universal Practice

Emily enjoys treating a wide range of Musculoskeletal injuries through manual therapy, education, and exercise prescription. She holds a Clinical Pilates certification with a passion for evidence-based exercise therapy.

Emily is also passionate about the intersection between physical health and mental well-being and is a current committee member of the Queensland Mental Health APA Committee.

Experience

Emily has experience in developing a high-performance program for the Port Melbourne Sharks A-league Football club for junior and senior athletes. Emily was a member of the Prep to Play Research Project team in one of the largest research projects on injury prevention in women’s community football, the project is in partnership with the Australian Football League, Medibank, AFL, AFLW, APA, the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise physicians, and Sports Medicine Australia.

Emily was a volunteer member of the FitSkills Research Project, a community-university partnership to increase exercise participation among youth with disability. Her experience in this role included guiding individuals with a disability through an exercise program, collaborating with adolescents and their families to improve their quality of life. Emily is passionate about using her knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in communities that need it most. She has volunteered internationally at the University Teaching Hospital in Zambia performing Physiotherapy work experience in different specialties such as ICU, orthopedics, pediatrics, out-patient rehabilitation, and high-cost patient rehabilitation.

Outside of helping patients during clinical hours, you can bet you will find Emily surfing or at the beach.

When the surf isn’t on, she enjoys Pilates, tennis, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying the outdoors!
